Wildlife Protection Management (WPM), is developing a Horse Placement Program as part of its ongoing free-roaming horse management efforts.

For several years, WPM has utilized RFID identification, health monitoring, vaccination delivery, and herd management technologies to better understand and manage the Diamond Tail Ranch horse population. As these efforts continue, WPM and Diamond Tail Ranch are expanding their infrastructure to support the evaluation, handling, training, and eventual placement of selected horses into qualified homes.

Current program development includes:

  • Individual horse identification and recordkeeping

  • Herd health monitoring and vaccination history

  • Handling and training facilities

  • Holding and evaluation areas

  • Development of responsible placement procedures

The goal of the Placement Program is to improve herd management while providing opportunities for selected horses to transition into safe, responsible, and loving long-term homes.

The program is currently in its development phase. As facilities and procedures are completed, additional information regarding horse availability, placement requirements, and application procedures will be made available.

In time, WPM plans to create a dedicated adoption and placement page where interested individuals can learn about available horses and future opportunities. We hope to build interest in these remarkable animals while ensuring they are matched with qualified owners and suitable homes.

Stay tuned as the program continues to grow.
